A few days prior I started to realize that the more I got into learning this thing, the deeper the ocean got. I even went through a few other forums and got a few presets that I downloaded on a zip drive (and forgot it when I left for the gig).

I also downloaded the manual and app, which really helped a lot. I didn't try and overload my brain, so I spread out my learning. I started of this endeavor by watching a boat load of the YouTube videos, starting with the one John had linked. The band was happy, I was happy, management seemed happy (they didn't complain).

Just wanted to give a full report, mission complete!!!!! Last night went real well.
Not much to complain about, at the street price, it's a lot of bang for the buck and in skilled hands, capable of a very good sounding show. Also I would pre-name channels in advance of the band being their as this isn't the quickest thing to do, perhaps better done with the offline software and then loaded to the console. a basic vocal channel, with a reasonable compressor setting and some low end pre-rolled off.
I would recommend getting a few "starting point" channel set-up's as to set a channel up from scratch is a little on the slow side, i.e. Generally it's not a bad console, effects are pretty good with the exception of the delay, which is a bit of a "blunt" tool. My band might be playing there as well in a month or 2, so all the help and advice will be appreciated!! Thanks!I second the above post, I would also suggest strongly that you go and view the X32 video's on Youtube, they will give you the quickest way to "get going" with it. Running sound for them before, I know that I can typically get by with some bare minimum set up (EQ and a little bit of effects). The band plays country/rock consisting of female lead singer, acoustic male singer on a few songs, lead guitar, bass backup singer, drums and maybe another electric. I was comfortable with the old mixer (and analog in general) but this will be my first time using a digital.Ĭan you guys point me toward some "X32 for Dummies" type tutorials? Although I won't be taking my wife's ipad with me, isn't there a free downloadable app and would that be helpful? The club use to have a Allen and Heath GL2400, but I found out last night that the owner recently bought the Behringer X32. Hello, I will be running sound for a band in a few weeks at a club that I've played a few times some years ago.
